Presidio County sponsored water and wastewater projects RFQ for engineering

Presidio County has applied for and received funding for several water and wastewater grants at a 70/30 match rate (County Utility Board/State and Fed funds) to build and operate drinking water systems in unincorporated areas of Presidio County as well as augment certain areas within the city limits of Marfa that do not currently have access to water or wastewater. The scope of the projects is pretty large and I won’t go into it here, but as Counties cannot operate enterprise utilities, the County has formed a Utility Board of Directors (currently consisting of the Commissioners Court members) that will administer and oversee the grants and the buildout of these water assets. At the conclusion of the construction, the Utility Board will operate as its own independent entity and will be responsible for making payments on borrowed funds that supply the County side of the general obligation. I’ve attached the Request for Engineering Proposal . The due date is Feb 2nd; this project is moving fast. Please forward this information to any engineering firms that may be interested in making a bid for services. Public notice in the Sentinel has been made.
